Mother Nature prevented the Turkey Creek Seniors from playing last week, but a beautiful summer morning greeted them as they took to the links Thursday, with 55 golfers playing a scramble format at Turkey Cree Golf Course.
The foursome of Galen Regehr, Joe LeDell, Lane Bomberger and Tom Billings shot a 63 to win a tiebreaker and the championship flight.
Taking second was Tom Goldsmith, Dennis Everhart and Jerry Grant, who also shot a 63.
In the first flight, the foursome of Bill Unruh, Bruce Hett, Mick Norbret and Tom Griffith shot a 65 to take first place.
The runners-up were Dean Smith, John Austin, Bill Clarke and Larry Fitzmorris, who shot a 66.
The hole prize was provided by Turkey Creek and went to John Austin, who sunk the longest putt on the 14th green.
The seniors will be back at Turkey Creek once more next Thursday. Sign-in time is at 7:30 a.m., with tee-off at 8 a.m. All those 55-years-old and older are welcome to join in.
