    Help raise money for breast cancer research and pick up some tasty treats in the process with Cookie for Cancer this Saturday.
    The event, which raised $1,100 last year, will be held at 816 East Euclid from 11 a.m. until they are sold out. Included will be homemade cookies, cupcakes, brownies and more.
    This year’s goal is $1,500.
    Enjoy some social time with the July YP Mac mingle
    Social time is the theme for the July YP Mac mingle, which will be held Thursday at Hank’s Place, 217 N. Ash, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
    Members and guests are responsible for their own food and drinks during the mingle, which provides a great opportunity to enjoy some social time with fellow young professionals in McPherson County.
    See Guys and Dolls under the stars this weekend
    Broadway RFD will put on a performance of “Guys and Dolls” this Friday and Saturday at the Swensson Park Memorial bandshell.
    The show starts at 8 p.m. both nights, with stadium seating available. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome, as well.
    Tickets are available at the gate only and cost $8. Children three and under are free.
    Have your teen go to the Teen Stuff movie at the library
    Teenagers in grades 6-12 are invited to participate in the McPherson Public Library’s summer series entitled “Beneath the Surface.”
    This week’s theme is an underground movie. Call 245-2570 for information about the movie. Free popcorn and pop will be provided.
    Attend the Mac County 4-H Fair this weekend
    The annual McPherson County 4-H Fair starts Friday at the McPherson County 4-H Fairgrounds in the 600 block of West Woodside..
    The 4-H Fair includes the Bicycle Rodeo Saturday morning at 11 a.m., with the horse show at 6 p.m. at Saddle Club Arena. Other events include conference judging, Barnyard Olympics, watermelon feed, water carnival, Recognition Luncheon, Round Robin Showmanship Contest and Livestock Sale.
    Make sure you support McPherson County’s hard-working youth, as they have spent countless hours getting ready for the fair, which runs through Aug. 1.
