Central Christian College announced the addition of Lance Pearson to the 2013-2014 Tiger tennis roster.
Pearson is a senior from Quitman, Texas, where he was a four- year letter winner at Mineola High School for Coach John Van Dover. Pearson was primarily a doubles player for the Yellow Jackets where he finished third in districts all four years.
“Lance loves the game of tennis and puts a lot of time on the court,” Van Dover said. “I know he will be successful, and I know the entire tennis program [at CCC] just became more fun.”
Central coach Jeremy Nelson said Pearson is a great addition to the Tiger program.
“He brings with him athleticism, a great attitude, and a strong work ethic,” Nelson said. “He will add depth to the team and will push the guys around him to be better.”
Pearson graduated in June with a 3.3 high school grade point average. He plans on pursuing a degree in aviation while attending CCC.
He is the son of Kevin and Tammy Pearson of Quitman, Texas. Pearson will join his new teammates in August when all new freshmen report for orientation.
