  • McPherson Floral had a ribbon cutting Thursday to celebrate its grand re-opening.
The shop was closed for about a month for renovations and remodeling.
Jessica Self, the store's owner, said she wanted to give the store a more modern feeling.
Some of the updates include new paint, new display shelving and a renovated office space.
Self also decided to tear down one of the walls to expose the brick underneath.
During the month of renovations, Self said the store did business through phone calls. She said she's eager to do business again through the renovated front of the store.
"I'm really excited to get into the swing of general business and bring an updated look to McPherson," Self said.
Self also owns Magnolia Floral Studio in Wichita, which she has owned for about a year and a half. She does floral arrangements for weddings and other events.
Self bought McPherson Floral from her grandparents, Robert and Shirley Christensan, in January. The Christensans had owned the store for 52 years.
