  • The McPherson County Ulster Project is currently looking for host teens and families for the 2014 project. The Irish teens will stay with their host families for the month of July.
Each day the Project planning team will plan activities for the Irish and American Host teens to participate in that include sightseeing, service, team building and fun activities. Teens between the ages of 14 and 17 are encouraged to consider getting involved.
For more information or for an application, please contact Roberta Burghart at (620) 245-0617 or email rburghart@stjosephmcpherson.com.
This year the planning team would like to have all applications returned by October 15, 2013.
The Ulster Project is a leadership program our McPherson County students have been involved in with teenagers from the Ulster Region of Northern Ireland for the past 7 years.
The youth who participate build lifelong friendships and work together to break down stereotypes and prejudices.
The activities provide an opportunity for the Northern Irish teens to get to know each other as individuals – an opportunity denied them in their own community.
While here, the Ulster Youth will travel to different communities within McPherson County doing service projects, speaking to community leaders, mentoring, and participating in a host of activities.
