  • At 11:08 p.m. Tuesday, sheriff’s deputies and officers from McPherson, Lindsborg, and Inman responded to assist the Kansas Highway Patrol in a southbound pursuit on Interstate 135.
The chase began in Saline County, where a trooper began pursuit of a vehicle driving southbound at 82 miles per hour in the left lane. Running the tag revealed the vehicle was stolen, and, as the trooper gave chase, the two vehicles reached speeds of 110 miles per hour.
The stolen vehicle’s front tires were punctured via spike strips, which resulted in it crashing into a Kansas Department of Transportation fence near mile market 65.
After the crash, the suspect fled the vehicle, running into a milo field on the side of the road where he was lost.
An investigation is ongoing at this time.
