Margaret Ann Rierson, 76, of McPherson passed away at 1:01 a.m., Friday, Sept. 6, while in the company of family members, at McPherson Hospital.

Margaret Ann Rierson, 76, of McPherson passed away at 1:01 a.m., Friday, Sept. 6, while in the company of family members, at McPherson Hospital.
Margaret was born on June 2, 1937, in Baltimore, Md., a daughter of Mary Elizabeth (Quigley) and Anton Frank Diegelman.
Margaret attended the Seton Catholic Grade School and Seton Catholic High School, Baltimore, Md.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in McPherson, where she was a member of the Altar Society and Legion of Mary.  Margaret visited residents of local nursing homes, volunteered at the Lord's Diner, and served her church in many other capacities through the years.
Margaret was a homemaker and retired from Sterling Drug as a group leader.
Margaret was a charter member of the McPherson County Food Bank and participated in many capacities through the years.  She also was an adopted grandmother for the sixth-grade St. Joseph Catholic School.  
Margaret enjoyed her family and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. She loved to take them to the park to feed the ducks.
Margaret was a great cook and baker and loved sharing her goodies with family and friends.  She enjoyed playing Bingo, Yahtzee and other games.  She kept up with this world of electronics and had adapted to the computer very well and even had a Facebook account.
Margaret A. Diegelman was united in marriage to Larry Dean Rierson on May 26, 1956, in Baltimore, Md. Larry died on Oct. 17, 2005.
Surviving members of her family include her daughters, Theresa “Terry” Bettels and husband Carl, of Butler, Mo., Anita Davison and husband Darren, of Hutchinson, and Sandra “Sandy” Huber and husband Norman, of McPherson; her 13 grandchildren, Amy Bettels-Malark and husband Darin, Joanne Bettels-Schaffer, Jennifer Bettels-White and husband Matt, Amanda Bettels-Frye and husband John, Michael Bettels, Lisa Bettels and fiancé Landon Rymer, Brandy Bettels and fiancé Brandon Folsom, Steven Davison and wife Traci, Brian Davison, Michelle Davison, Rachel Davison, Andrew Huber and Blake Huber; her nine great-grandchildren, Sara Schaffer, Brayden Heisel, Cody Malark, Marissa Malark, Alexis Frye, Vivian “Vivi” White, Miles Davison, Jackson Craig, and Mackenzie Baker; nieces Mary Margaret Bayer and husband Dennis of Perry Hall, Md., and Jane Diegelman, St. Louis, Mo.; along with other relatives and a host of friends.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Larry Rierson; two brothers, Joseph “Joe” and Anthony “Frank” Diegelman; a sister, Mary Delano; a great-grandson, Austin Michael Malark, and a nephew Randy Delano.
Friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 pm. Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013,  at St. Joseph Catholic Church, McPherson.  Rosary will follow the visitation at 4:15 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, McPherson at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, with Fr. Hien Nguyen officiating.
The final resting place will be at the Empire Cemetery, Galva.
Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic School or McPherson County Food Bank, and they can be sent in care of the Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home, 222 W. Euclid St.; McPherson.
