  • At 4:53 p.m. Sunday, firefighters from Lindsborg and McPherson responded to the 2300 block of 14th Avenue for an outside fire.
The fire was a series of small fires running along the west side of the road, and turned to follow along the south side of Pawnee Road.
Assistant Fire Chief Rick Unruh said the fires were likely started by an unaware driver.
“It’s very likely they had a wheel bearing problem or something similar, and the fact that the rash of fires were all on the same side of the road makes this very likely,” Unruh said.
Several hay bales caught on fire as well.
The firefighters extinguished the fires and were back at the station by 5:43 p.m.
