  • 1. Participate in a study and have a scone
    St. Anne’s Episcopal Church will host a Crème Tea and Scones from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday for McPherson women interested in participating in a doctoral study.
    Irene Nielsen is seeking women born between 1930 and 1940 who live independently with or without a spouse to volunteer to participate in a dissertation study.

    2. Learn about shrubs
    Cheryl Boyer, KSU assistant horticulture professor and specialist, will speak at the McPherson 4-H building from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
    The title of her presentation is “Spectacular Shrubs.” Cost is $5 per person.
    Funds go to support local Master Gardener Program.
    3. Celebrate Santa Fe Days
    Something To Be Proud Of Santa Fe Days will be all day Saturday at downtown Inman.
    Events include breakfast, a fun run with one-mile, two-mile, 10K and half marathon distances, museum and library tours, a parade, a pizza eating contest, a pedal pull, and a fishing derby.

    4. Visit the Omega House
    The Omega Project will have an open house for its new Omega House from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at 117 N. Olivette.
    The Omega Project helps struggling men develop better lifestyles and find jobs.
    Refreshments, tours of house and opportunity to visit with men in program will be provided. For more information, call 241-1371.
    5. Enjoy a family night
    The American Legion Family Night will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at American Legion Post 24.
    Hamburger, fries, soft drink and dessert costs $5 with an advance ticket. At the door, each item costs $1.25. Proceeds go to the McPherson County Food Bank.
