Thanks to the generosity of several key vendor partners, and nearly hundred golfers, the 2013 Pipeliners Golf Tournament Committee has donated more than $10,500 to the FUSE Foundation.
The annual tournament draws participants from several states, and from various companies involved in the pipeline industry. This year’s donation marks the tenth year of significant contributions to charitable organizations.
Started in 2008, the FUSE Foundation provides social and educational networking opportunities for young adults in Kansas with neuromuscular disease.
Their most recent event was the 2013 Summer Retreat, where more than 70 campers and volunteers enjoyed the 4-day event at Camp Tawakoni. Funding for the FUSE Foundation comes completely through donations, and the support of the Pipeliners Golf Tournament is a significant boost to the new organization.
“It’s just tremendous to receive such a large contribution, and to witness the enthusiasm and support for our mission,” Terri Reed, FUSE Foundation President, said. “Because of these generous donors, we will be able to continue to provide unique experiences for our growing group of young adults – experiences they cannot have anywhere else.”
Several members of FUSE served as volunteers for the event, and also enjoyed lunch with the golfers following the tournament at McPherson’s Turkey Creek Golf Course.
