  • McPherson High School had a good day at the Salina Central Invitational Saturday, winning the team title by 10 points.

  • McPherson High School had a good day at the Salina Central Invitational Saturday, winning the team title by 10 points.
    Individually, Ellea Ediger and the best finish for the Pups, going 3-1 and taking first place. Taylor Swartzendruber went 2-2 for a seventh place finish.
    In the doubles bracket, the team of Camry Holle and Emily Ediger went 3-1, taking third place. The duo of Brooke Bate and Katlyn Riefschneider also went 3-1, but took fifth.
    McPherson finished with 95 team points, outpacing second place Maize, who had 85. Salina Central Maroon finished third with 72 points, followed by Lawrence Free State (71), Arkansas City (59) and Valley Center (58). Salina South was seventh (52), followed by Bishop Miege (50), Salina Central White (41), Newton (36), Hutchinson (34) and Hays (21).
    The MHS varsity is next in action Thursday at the Arkansas City Invitational.
