  • It was another tough night for the CCC women's soccer team.
The Tigers hosted the Tabor College Blue Jays and when all was said and done, the Jays left victorious by a count of 4-1.
The first half started out rough for the Tigers. The Blue Jays scored two goals in the first 12 minutes of the game, the first on a failed clearance by the defense, and the second on a header goal off of a corner kick.
The first goal was very preventable, the second was a very nice goal. Several minutes later, the Tigers cut the lead in half when Haley McMath was the beneficiary of a wide open net after Krystina Powell cut back on the Tabor defense and played a crisp pass across the 6 yard box.
The score remained 2-1 going into the halftime break.
In the second half, the Tigers couldn't get anything going offensively while the Blue Jays were able to add two more goals to close things out.
Things got worse for the Tigers just after the midway point of the half when a scuffle took place between Emily Ratsdakohm and a Tabor midfielder.
Both players were issued red cards and "sent off."
A red card means the player is ejected from the current game, and must sit out the next game as well. Unfortunately the Tiger depth will be even thinner for Saturday's game at Sterling.
The loss drops the Tigers to 1-6 on the season.
They will be on the road on Saturday for an afternoon game against the Sterling College Warriors. Kickoff is slated for 1 pm.
