Scripture: Luke (NIV) 6:45 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart if full of.
Observation: The mouth often becomes a window allowing others to see what is in the heart. A person may try to carefully choose their words, but in an unguarded moment the contents of the heart spills out through the mouth. We need to seriously consider what we read in God’s word. In meditating on it, we are tucking away God’s word into the corners and empty places of our heart. The Holy Spirit can bring it to my memory when we need it.
Application: When I squeeze the ketchup container, I expect Ketchup. When I squeeze the mustard container, I expect mustard. And when my heart is suddenly squeezed may my words be His words!
Prayer: Lord, I want my heart to be filled with your Word and with your praise. Amen
