  • three event highlights
    1. Movies in the Park is wrapping up its fifth year this weekend. The McPherson Convention and Visitor’s Bureau shows a movie the first Saturday of the month from May to September. The events have an average attendance of between 75 and 150 people.
    2. This week’s movie is “Brave,” a 93-minute Disney/Pixar film about a girl who accidentally brings a curse on her family while trying to find her own destiny. It currently has a 7.2/10-star rating on IMDB. The movie is also set in Scotland, which ties it into the Scottish Festival this weekend.
    3. The bureau will give away one free Merida doll to a child at the event. Merida is the movie’s protagonist.
