Grace Lutheran Women’s Missionary League met in the parish hall at 7 p.m. on Sept. 17.
The meeting was called to order by the president, Sue Tangkawarow. The League Pledge was read in unison for opening devotions.
Roll call was answered by six members, pastor and one guest (Sheila McLean).
Pastor led the Bible Study from the August Lutheran Witness titled “Christ at the Center.” He had all the Bible verses typed, which saved time looking them up as it was a longer lesson.
A business meeting followed.
A sign-up sheet for hostess and volunteer jobs was passed for those that were not at the picnic.
Minutes of the July meeting were read and approved.
Lu Nutter delivered 21 quilts and one large shoebox of bandages to Lutheran World Relief pickup in Salina and 11 health kits to the McPherson County Food Bank.
Nutter reported (via Peggy) that 17 people were at the picnic in August.
Tangkawarow announced that the fall Zone meeting will be on Oct. 19.
The new yearbooks are not finished because the executive committee has not met.
She asked if any changes to addresses or phone numbers need to be made.
The meeting closed with the Lord’s Prayer.
Tangkawarow was hostess for the evening and served ice cream cake.
