Margaret A. Schmidt, 80, of McPherson, passed away at 11:45 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, peacefully at Cedars House.
Margaret was born on Feb. 15, 1933, in Salina, the daughter of Verna Sereptha Beatrice (Lungstrom) and Fredrick Pinkall.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church McPherson.
Margaret was a homemaker and, through the years, worked as a clerk for Kings Drug Store, Graves Drug Store and the Hallmark store. She also worked as a office assistant for Dr. Scoby’s office and for Countryside Animal Clinic. Margaret retired as an assembler for Mid Tech, all of McPherson.
Margaret A. Pinkall was united in marriage to Harold G. Schmidt on July 25, 1952, at McPherson.
Margaret is survived by her devoted husband of more than 61 years, Harold G. Schmidt, of McPherson; her children, Kent Schmidt and his wife Judi, of Lindsborg, and Kathy Wedel and her husband Tim, of Newton; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter Sue Ann Peterson; and her sister Virginia Wenthe
Private family service and inurnment will be at the Crestwood Memorial Park Cemetery, rural McPherson.
