120 North Main, McPherson is about to become home to more than just Atelier Design and Print.
Owner Phil Parrish has been preparing to open Craft Coffee Parlor in the location as well.
“My wife Traci and I love coffee,” Parrish said. “She worked as a barista for several years. In fact, we met in a coffee shop. We have an interest in quality coffee shops in general.”
The coffee parlor, which received 300 likes on Facebook in its page’s first two days, will serve Topeka-produced P.T.’s coffee, McPherson-produced Java John’s flavored coffee, and baked goods from McPherson’s The Cake Lady.
The location will offer free WiFi internet service, and, Parrish said, the option of paying for your drinks or snacks with your smartphone via the app Square Wallet.
“You just enter your credit card number into Square Wallet,” Parrish said, “and you can walk in and check out that way. It’ll make checkout really quick. It works very, very well.”
Parrish said that, in the future, he plans to feature live music and other events.
“There’ve been a number of people whose support has been instrumental,” Parrish said, “including Nick Unruh, Caleb Porter, Stacey Kaufman, Nathan Holthus and Adam Porter. I owe them my thanks.”
