Patsy Arlene Skipworth, 72, of McPherson, passed away at 8:29 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, while in the company of family members, at McPherson Care Center.
Patsy was born Feb. 14, 1941, in McPherson, a daughter of Ruth Leola (Rariden) and Thomas Nolan Skipworth Sr.
Patsy attended the Roosevelt grade school, McPherson Junior High School and graduated from McPherson High School, McPherson.
She attended New Hope Evangelical Church, McPherson.
Through the years Patsy worked as a dishwasher for the McPherson Country Club and custodian for Dr. Larry Thompson.
Patsy was a member of the McPherson County Historical Society. She loved the outdoors and spending time in her yard and garden, enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends, sewing, long walks, and spending time with her family and enjoyed spending time with children.
Surviving family members include her siblings, John K. Loewen Jr. and his wife Marge, of Hutchinson, Kay Goodsheller, of McPherson, Thomas N. Skipworth Jr. and his wife Helen, of McPherson, and Jimmy L. Skipworth and his wife Floy, of McPherson; many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Thomas Skipworth; sister Evelyn Ratzlaff, a great-nephew, Shawn Michael Davidson, nephews, Michael Edward Davidson, and Roger Davidson; and a niece, Becky Beagel.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11 at the McPherson Cemetery, McPherson, with Pastor Jim Keil officiating.
