It was a trying contest for Lady Bulldog soccer as they lost a 2-0 match to RV Kansas Wesleyan University late Tuesday night.
Mac was unable to tally a single shot attempt against a very difficult Coyote team.
MC moves to 2-7-1 for the year and 1-1 in conference.
The Lady 'Dogs did a nice job of moving the ball in the opening minutes but could not get into attacking range. They kept things even for the first 30-plus minutes, stiffening up their defense but KWU was able to break through as a deep ball crawled by the goal line after ricocheting off keeper Caitlyn Blagrave.
The 'Yotes took their 1-0 lead into the locker room.
The second period started off with a bang as MC's Jessica Dominguez and KWU's Emma Rogers were both awarded red cards, putting 10 players apiece on the field for the remainder of the contest.
Now missing their leading scorer for the season, McPherson continued to struggle finding space in the attacking third.
The Coyotes scored their final goal at the 68 minute mark, putting two points on the scoreboard.
Blagrave totaled five saves in the losing effort. She is now 2-4-1 on the year between the pipes.
McPherson will play host on Saturday for their next competition.
Ottawa University makes the trip to Mac for a 1:30 kickoff on the grass field at McPherson College.
