A 26-year-old Fort Worth, Texas, man was arrested Friday in McPherson on charges of allegedly attacking his father.
Police responded to the Wheat State Motel, 111 S. Roosevelt, in reference to an unresponsive bleeding man.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers found Bobby D. Pennington, 51, of Fritch, Texas, bleeding profusely from the head in one of the motel rooms.
Officers saw a second man running into a second room at the motel. Chadwick P. Pennington, Bobby D. Pennington’s son, was armed with knife, and was tased by an officer and taken into custody.
Both men were transported to McPherson Hospital.
Bobby D. Pennington was airlifted to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita with life-threatening injuries.
Chadwick P. Pennington was treated and released.
He was booked into the McPherson County Jail on charges of aggravated battery with domestic violence, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, burglary and criminal damage.
The two men were both arrested Thursday each on charges of domestic battery, after an altercation at about 6:30 a.m. that also happened at the motel.
Bobby Pennington was released from the McPherson County Jail after the Thursday incident after posting $296 bond, and Chadwick Pennington was released after posting $592 bond.
