5 things we'd like to see the residents of McPherson County enjoy and get involved with this week.
1. Enjoy a night of music
The Bethany College Band and Choir Concert will be at 7:30 p.m. today at Presser Hall, 335 E. Swensson St., Lindsborg.
2. Support Strikers Soccer
American Legion Family Night will be Thursday.
Proceeds will go to the McPherson Strikers Soccer Club.
Hamburgers, fries, soft drinks and desserts will be served for $5 with advance tickets.
At the door, each item costs $1.25. Food will be served from 5 through 6:30 p.m.
3. Bid at benefit for Pine Village
Pine Village Benefit Day and Auction will be Thursday at the Wellness Center, 86 22nd Ave., Moundridge.
A sausage dinner will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. with homemade pie for dessert. The auction will begin at 6 p.m. Photos of auction items are posted online at www.pinevillageks.org or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/PineVillageKS.
4. Learn how to grow when it snows
“Winter Gardening in Kansas Without a Greenhouse” will be presented from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the McPherson 4-H Building.
Speaker will be Bob Broyles of Butler Community College. Cost is $5 per person. Admission for participants 18 and younger is free. Funds go to support the local Master Gardener Program. For more information, go to www.
5. Dip into BEAD Soup
The BEAD Soup! art class will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the VAAM Gallery in the McPherson Opera House, 219 S. Main St.
You’ve seen her work in the VAAM Gallery. Now one of the gallery’s best-selling artisans, Susan Shepard, shares her expertise in this class designed for participants of all ages and skill levels. Find new uses for old and broken jewelry.
