The win puts the Lady Bulldogs over the .500 hump, moving them to 14-13 overall and 6-5 in the KCAC, fifth in the conference.
SWC gave McPherson the most trouble in the opening set, hanging within a handful, but always trailing.
MC held off a late surge by the Builders for a 25-22 win.
Mac took control early in each of their sets, but especially the second; they had a lead of 10+ from 14 points on, winning 25-11.
In the final game of the match, the Bulldogs got out fast again but let Southwestern linger for the middle section of the set. MC had a late run helping them complete the sweep 25-16.
Week seven MC Athlete of the Week Tori Phelan led the way in kills with 13. She had zero attacking errors in the three-set match.
Both Taylor Johnson and Sophie Simon logged eight kills. Johnson added 11 digs to her stat line while Simon totaled three assisted blocks.
Rachel Phillips (Maize, Kan.) tallied 28 assists and 14 digs, leading the 'Dogs in both categories. Emily Girard (Osborne, Kan.) added six assists, eight digs, four kills and two assisted blocks to the cause.
McPherson travels the short distance to Hillsboro, Kansas for their next match as they play the Tabor College Lady Blue Jays on October 19th; start time is 7:30 p.m. (CT)
