Bethany College came up short Wednesday night in a road trip to Sterling to face the Warriors.
Bethany struggled offensively as the Warriors of Sterling College held the Swedes to a .093 hitting percentage on the night.
Sterling ultimately defeated Bethany 3-0 (20-25, 16-25, 23-25).
Junior Alexa Gerber totaled 10 kills in the match, followed by senior Maria Bujanda and sophomore Bryanna Cool with seven each.
Freshman Eileen Vlamis tallied 15 kills as Gerber added 11. Sophomore Ariel Buhr recorded 14 digs while senior Sarah Phelps tacked on 11.
Bujanda, Cool, senior Kaitlyn Davis, and freshman Whitney Williams combined for one assisted block apiece. Vlamis, Davis, and sophomore Quethzally Chaparro each had one service ace.
"We played pretty well in sets one and three," Bethany coach Nathalea Stephenson said. "We had a hard time finishing."
The Swedes are now 1-11 in the KCAC, and 5-19 overall.
The squad hosts Southwestern College on Monday at 7 p.m.
