  • 1. Explore the world of vintage
    Vintage in the Valley will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday in Downtown Marquette. If it is repurposed, vintage, antique, dusty, chippy, rusty or just plain cool, it will be here. There will be food vendors, cupcakes, coffee bar, street food, etc. and live music throughout the day. Email for questions to vintageinthevalley@live.com. 785-820-6884
    2. Give blood
    Red Cross will have a blood drive at Trinity Lutheran Church, 119 N. Elm, McPherson Friday and Saturday. Visit redcrossblood.org or call 800-RED CROSS (733-2767) to schedule an appointment.
    3. Visit a graveyard
    McPherson Museum & Arts Foundation Tombstone Talks will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at the McPherson Cemetery. It is a walkabout tour of the cemetery with stops at various graves to discuss their inhabitants.
    The tour is a respectful look at selected former McPherson residents and/or their tombstones. Cost is $5.00 for non-members; free to members. For more information, call 620-241-8464.
    4. Support United Way
    The Celebrate the Magic of United Way Benefit Lunch Buffet will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at The Cedars Cafe.
    Cost is a free will donation. All proceeds to benefit United Way of McPherson County.
    5. Get some spooky exercise
    The Trick, Trek or Trot Benefit for Jennifer Krob will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday at South Park Shelter Houses, Lindsborg. Events include a bike race at 3 p.m., a kids short race (bike/run/walk) at 5:30 p.m., a haunted 2-mile walk at 5:45 p.m. on the Valkommen Trail. , and a haunted 5K at 6:30 p.m. on the Valkommen Trail. Costumes welcome but not required. There will be food available for a free will donation of $5 or more from 5 to 7:30 p.m. For more information about registration and fees, email hlindquist@smokyvalley.org or pick up forms at City Hall, Scott's Thriftway and Ol Stuga.
