  • The 2013-14 basketball season gets underway tonight, with the McPherson College men and women on the road at Haskell Indian Nations University.
The Lady Bulldogs will have a new look this season Head coach Gordon Reimer takes the reigns of the program that went 14-15 last year and was sixth in the conference.
McPherson returns six from last year’s team, with only three having played any significant time. That includes Cheyenne Eisenhower, Bailey Brown and Cami Engelbert.
That leaves 13 underclassmen to round out the roster, with 10 not on the team a year ago.
The McPherson men return four starters from last year’s KCAC Tournament Championship team that exceeded all expectations on them.
Leading the charge in 2013-14 are seniors Samson Shivers, Devirous Johnson, Darius Hill and Joey Powers.
Shivers is less than 500 points away from the McPherson College total points record.
A new, yet familar, face will help run the point for the Bulldogs, as Kenny Berry, Jr., returns to the program. Berry was the 2011-2012 KCAC freshman of the year, but spent last season at another institution.
The women tipoff with Haskell tonight at 5:30 p.m., the men at 8 p.m.
