  • The Bethany College women made it two in a row Saturday, as they defeated Manhattan Christian College 78-57 in a road contest.
In a foul-filled contest, Bethany took control of the game early, and went into halftime with a 36-19 lead.
Manhattan Christian College had a strong second half, outscoring the Swedes by one point, but Bethany was able to hang onto their previous lead and defeat MCC 71-55.
Freshman Maddy Shetlar had a team-high nine points as junior Kaitlyn Norton and freshman Kyleigh Rees added eight each.
"We definitely showed signs of playing our third game in five days," Bethany coach Brett Morehouse said. "We were a step late in a lot of our rotations, and gave up a lot of opportunities at the free throw line. With that said, I thought we played pretty hard.We look forward to a full week of practice to get ready for the number eight team in the country Oklahoma Wesleyan University."
The Swedes are now 2-1 overall. The squad hosts No. 8 Oklahoma Wesleyan University on Friday at 7 p.m.
