Is the book really better than the movie? The McPherson Public Library invites all readers to explore that question during its Book vs. Movie Showdown throughout the month of November.
Patrons can check out a package which includes both the book and its DVD movie adaptation, and then read, watch, and turn in their opinion on which is better. All participants will receive a bag of free popcorn. A grand prize will be given to the patron who turns in the most reviews sheet during the month.
“With the colder weather approaching, here’s a fun way to spend a couple of chilly evenings,” said Jennie Hall, Head of Adult Services. “If you’ve already read the book, but not seen the movie or vice versa, you can still participate by checking out whichever part of the pair you haven’t seen yet. Your vote still counts!”
Book and movie packages will be on display in the library. Stop by the service desk to find out more about participating in the Book vs. Movie Showdown, or for additional information contact the library at 245-2570 or email@example.com.
