  • It was a tough end for one of the most successful seasons in the Bethnay College men's soccer team’s recent history, as the Swedes fell to top-seeded Kansas Wesleyan University 3-0 Friday. "This is the first time since 2004 that the program has had a winning season,” Swede coach Kevin Megli said. “I am extremely proud of what the coaching staff and the players have been able to achieve in the short amount of time here at Bethany College. The hard work that the players have put in, on and off the field, has produced something that Bethany College can be proud of.” In the first half, the Coyotes of Kansas Wesleyan University narrowly outshot Bethany 6-5. However, Bethany and KWU were unable net a goal as the teams were 0-0 at halftime. KWU broke the scoreless tie with a goal eight minutes into the second half. The Coyotes scored again at just before the 75th minute, taking a 2-0 lead. Kansas Wesleyan University tacked on their third goal of the game with eight minutes remaining in regulation. The Swedes were held to three shots in the second half, and were unable to score as Bethany lost 3-0 to end their season. The Coyotes outshot the Swedes 17-8 in the contest. Seniors Lewis Collins and Admir Balicevac, juniors Arman Hoque, Valdemar Neto, Lucas Procopio, sophomore Luis Fernando and freshmen Angel Cotito and Oladipo Williams had one shot each.
