  • Central Christian College earned every bit of their 129-122, double-overtime win over Ozark Christian College Thursday night in Joplin, Mo.
    The Tigers (7-1) were down 15 with under two minutes to play but fought back and took a brief 99-97 lead with three seconds left after a Dustin Rojas three-pointer.
    The Ambassadors were then fouled on a last-second three-pointer, but shooter Kendall Wingert missed one of his three free throws to force the overtime period.
    The score was tied 114-114 after the first overtime and CCC struggled in the second extra period, but hit their free throws down the stretch to pull out the win.
    Daniel Nwosuh led the Tigers with 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting. Aaron Miller added 20, while Sam Clayborn and Nathan Fort both had 19.
    Fort picked up the double-double with 10 rebounds. Miller also had a double-double with 11 assists.
    Rojas scored 18, including 4-of-10 three pointers, while Chris Quincy scored 10.
    The Tigers out-rebounded the Ambassadors 57-50, but had more turnovers (26-17).
    For the game, CCC shot 53.6 percent from the floor, making 45-of-84 shots. They were 27-of-45 from the foul line.
    Central is at home Monday, as they will host Kansas Wesleyan University. Tipoff from the Ed Pyle Sports Complex is at 7:30 p.m.
