  • 1. Enjoy dinner
The 18th Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Community Building. This is a free meal and everyone is welcome. To make reservations, call 241-1292; reservations needed by Tuesday.
To volunteer to help, call 245-0313. To donate pies, call 241-8501.
    2. See a movie
"The Polar Express" will show at 3 p.m. at the McPherson Opera House, 219 S. Main as part of 2013 Holiday Promotion offered by the McPherson Chamber of Commerce, McPherson Main Street and the McPherson Convention & Visitors Bureau.
    3. Go for a ride
The 26th Annual McPherson County 'Toys for Kids' Toy Run starts at 1 p.m. Saturday at Wal-Mart.
The run begins in the Wal-Mart parking lot and ends up at the American Legion, 401 N. Main, for a chili feed and gift auction.
This is a great event that helps give a Christmas to area children that would not otherwise have one. For more information, call 241-0343.
    4. See Santa
Santa is making a special early stop from 1 to 4 p.m. at the J. O. Sundstrom Conference Center to hear exclusive wish lists. Tell Santa all you want for Christmas and then take a complimentary horse-drawn wagon ride. Hot chocolate and snacks will be provided.
    5. Visit the museum
The McPherson Museum & Arts Foundation will have its exhibit grand opening from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
Permanent and feature exhibit areas will be open to the public.
