  • The cross country seasons at McPherson and Bethany Colleges have officially concluded as Aspen Frey ran at the 2013 NAIA Cross Country Championships at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence on Saturday.
Bethany College had one representative at the NAIA National Competition. Jeremiah Gerardy qualified for the NAIA National Championships following his fourth place finish at the KCAC Championships on Nov. 9.
Gerardy finished in top half of this very strong field, as he was 151st out of 313 runners. He finished with a time of 26:20.09. His average mile time was 5:17.9.
Frey finished 175th out of 319 competitors with a time of 19:48.80.
Frey's split at Nationals is an improvement on the last time she was on that very same course which happened over a month ago at the NAIA Preview Meet.
She clocked a 19:55.92 time. This Saturday's time was not a season-best but considering the difficult course, Frey and coach Cameron Magnall were both satisfied.
"Aspen ran a very strong race to close out her Bulldog career," Magnall said. "She was able to handle the adversity of the bitter temperatures and the emotions of her final race and put together another impressive performance. Throughout her three years in the program, she has continually represented the college and team with the highest degree of character."
