As announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), McPherson College offensive lineman Heath Hewitt has earned a spot on the 2013 Capital One Academic All-America® College Division Football Team.


As announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), McPherson College offensive lineman Heath Hewitt has earned a spot on the 2013 Capital One Academic All-America® College Division Football Team.
The Capital One College Division Academic All-America® football team is comprised of student-athletes from NAIA, Canadian and two-year institutions; the team is comprised of 24 individuals.
Hewitt was a four-year player for Bulldog football, playing all over the offensive line. In 2013, the senior anchored a line which put up 1375 yards rushing and 2461 through the air.
Earlier this year, Hewitt was named an All-KCAC Second Team member for the first time in his career; he also earned Academic All-District honors for the second-straight year.
 He is a two-time Daktronics-NAIA  Scholar-Athlete as well.
After playing in over 40 games and being a part of an undefeated KCAC Championship team in 2010, Hewitt will graduate in May with a degree in Biology Education.
