The White House is expected to nominate veteran Senator Max Baucus (D.-Mont.) as the next U.S. Ambassador to China, according to multiple news reports today.
Baucus, who has served in the U.S. Senate since 1978, had already announced that he would not be running for reelection in 2014. It is unclear when the appointment will take place.
Senator Baucus has long been an advocate for our nation’s wheat farmers.
