  • With roads icing over beginning Friday, McPherson County saw five injury accidents during the weekend.
    Joseph Komlofske, 53, of Salina, was transported to Via Christi on St. Francis by Harvey County EMS after suffering a rollover accident at 3:58 a.m., which occurred at mile marker 43.8 on southbound Interstate 135.
    Komlofske’s vehicle slid on the ice into the median, where it flipped over.
    At 5:34 a.m. Friday, Edwin Casanova of Solomon was involved in an accident on Interstate 135 at the northbound 44 mile marker. Moundridge EMS transported Casanova to Moundridge Mercy Hospital.
    At 6:49 a.m. Friday Laura Bowers, 60, of Galva, was westbound on Pawnee Road near 16th Avenue when her car slid on the ice, went into the south ditch and rolled.
    Bowers was transported by McPherson EMS to McPherson Hospital.
    At 6:21 p.m. Saturday, Erin Toews, 18, of McPherson, was heading northeast on Kansas Highway 61 when her car spun on a patch of snow. She was transported to McPherson Hospital by McPherson EMS.
    Mija Stockman, who was critically injured in a three-vehicle accident at 14th and Pawnee Friday, is currently in very serious condition at Via Christi on St. Francis due to head injuries sustained in the accident.
