John D. Holm, 92, passed away Jan. 18, 2014, at the Pleasant View Home, Inman. He was born Dec. 5, 1921, in Galva, the son of Carl V. and Ethel M. Aelmore Holm.  He served in the United States Army.   He was a farmer and a member of the Burrton Lions Club and VFW. On June 9, 1984 he married Violet Corwin Olson. She survives.
Other survivors include his children, David (Linda) Holm of Wisconsin, Margaret (Dan) Myers of Louisburg, Kan., John D. Jr. (Jennifer) of Winter, Wis., step-children, Elizabeth Brandon of Inman, Jerry (Clareen) Olson of Hutchinson, Janice (Robert) Shain of Buhler; one brother, Arlie (Norma) Holm of Galva; one sister, Minnie Swenson of Lindsborg; eight grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and step-great- great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  
He is preceded in death by one sister, Thelma Lee Crenshaw, and one grandson, Matthew Holm.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 at New Gottland Lutheran Church, McPherson with Reverend Harry Grinstad officiating.
Burial will follow at the New Gottland Church Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at Buhler Mortuary, Buhler.
