Wayne Keith Snyder, 95, of McPherson, passed away at 9 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, peacefully, at Loving Care of McPherson.
 Wayne was born on Oct. 21, 1918, in rural Padonia, son of  Nellie and Sam Snyder.
 Wayne attended the Hiawatha area country school and graduated from Padonia High School, Padonia.
 He was Baptist throughout his life.
 He made a career in the U. S. Air Force as a pilot. He served during WW II, the Korean War, and Vietnam. When he retired he had obtained the rank of colonel. After retirement from the military, he owned and operated a Century 21 Real Estate Company in Bellevue, Neb. In 1996, he retired again, and he and his wife Joyce moved to Tampa, Fla.
 Wayne Keith Snyder was united in marriage to Joyce McWhorter on May 28, 1946, in Houston; she died in March 2007.  
Wayne spent the last five years of his life in McPherson enjoying his family, making many new friends and taking care of the family dogs.  God has been good to all of us and has blessed us to be a part of such a beautiful life.
He is survived by his sons Jeff Snyder and his wife Kimberly, of McPherson, and James ‘Jim Snyder and his wife Christine, of Pueblo West, Colo.; his four grandchildren, Jennifer Snyder, Dacia Peterson, Fielding Snyder, and Evan Cowden; his one great-grandson, Aiden Genter; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
 Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Joyce Snyder; his daughter Janet Snyder; his brother Carl Snyder; and sister, Stella.
 A private family service was conducted on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at the Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home, McPherson.
