1. Vaffeldagen is a traditional Swedish celebration of spring featuring waffles. On Saturday morning and afternoon, various Lindsborg businesses will offer waffles or waffle-themed foods, including the Swedish Crown Restaurant, The Old Grind, Swedish Country Inn, Courtyard Kafe, White Peacock and Brickhouse Grill.
2. Several people will wander the streets dressed in waffle costumes. The costumes are made of foam, painted and decorated to look like they have whipped cream and fruit. There are five costumes in total.
3. This year, Lindsborg will have its first Waffle Olympics from 10 a.m. to noon in the 100 block of North Main Street. All are invited to watch and participate. Events will be led by Bethany College physical education and sports management students and staff. Games include a waffle relay, waffle building, waffle hoop roll, waffle discus throw, waffle balance, waffle pong, stick stack and a waffle eating contest. Medals will be awarded at 12:15 p.m. A bouncy house and chalk drawing will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Why you should attend:
“It’s just fun. It’s something good to eat with a few laughs.”
— Kathy Richardson, organizer
