  • Reader thanks Smoky Valley seniors for MCDS fundraiser

  • Whitney, Tiffani, Morgan, and Abigail: Thank you so much for using your class project to raise money for Multi Community Diversified Services (MCDS).
The man featured in the (Sentinel) picture is my brother, Doug Spitler. He has been a client with MCDS for over 30 years, and I can’t stress enough how this organization has enhanced his life.
Together with MCDS staff and an array of volunteers, his church family, and the McPherson community, Doug has lived a semi-independent yet extremely fulfilling life.
No matter where I go with Doug, we see people who have crossed his path one way or another, and I know that we are truly blessed to have such a loving and accepting community.
When I see these senior girls getting involved to raise money, I know that another generation of McPherson residents will be a part of the clients’ lives.
It is never an easy decision to house loved ones in facilities outside of the home; however, because of MCDS, Doug has had so many opportunities. He is blessed beyond measure.
    Thank you again, girls.
