  • Buhler captured the team title, while a Hutchinson golfer walked away with the individual championship Thursday at the McPherson Invitational Golf Tournament.
Buhler edged out Hutchinson by a single stroke to claim the team championship, with the Crusaders shooting a team 315.
For the host Bullpups, Dylan Blosser had rounds of 42 and 40 to finish with 82, which landed him in the top 20 at 19th.
Other McPherson golfers competing were Jacob Lackey (86), Casey Cheek (96), Wyatt Porter (105), TJ Stites (95) and CJ Steiner (90).
As a team, MHS finished ninth with a 353, one stroke ahead of El Dorado and 12 behind eighth place Arkansas City.
Buhler may have taken the team title, but Hutchinson’s Turner Wintz took the individual crown, as he shot great rounds of 35 and 36 to finish with 71. Only Buhler’s Mac McNish managed to shot a round as low as Wintz, as McNish notched a 36 on the back nine to finish with a 75 and third place.
Derby’s Quincy Stith and Jeremy Dunham finished second and fourth, respectively, followed by Sterling’s Brogan Jones at fifth.
Full team scores and the top 20 individuals can be found in the scoreboard.
The MHS varsity is back on the links Tuesday, as they travel to Newton and Sand Creek Station Golf Course. Tee time is at 1 p.m.
