Raymond W. Klatt, 82, retired farmer and Hesston Corporation employee died Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Pine Village, Moundridge.
He was born Aug. 24, 1931 in Goessel, the son of Herman and Martha (Windler) Klatt. He attended parochial school at Immanuel Lutheran Church School, rural Canton and graduated from Canton High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Canton American Legion Post No. 192.
He married Laura Jane Pauls on June 7, 1953 at Inman. Three children were born to this union, Bill, Kristi and Cheryl. She preceded him in death on Aug. 24, 1991. He married Susie Decker on July 11, 1992, at Canton. She preceded him in death on Feb. 26, 2005. He married Carlene Rosen on May 12, 2012, at Canton and she survives.
Other survivors include son, Bill (Brenda) Klatt, McPherson; two daughters, Kristi (Richard) Morgan, Moundridge, and Cheryl Ann (Boyd) Ayer, Wichita; six step-children; five grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Melvon and Howard, a sister, Shirley Ann Klatt and one step-daughter preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Canton. Interment will be in McPherson Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2014 at Olson’s Mortuary, Canton.
A memorial has been established with the McPherson County Humane Society, in care of the mortuary.
