Donald Eugene “Don” Beagel, 65, of McPherson died and went to be with his Lord at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 28 while in the company of family members at Hospice House, Hutchinson, Reno County.
Don was born on January 9, 1949 in McPherson, a son of Alda Mae (Swenson) and Frank Donald Beagel.
Don attended Roosevelt grade school, McPherson Park School, McPherson Junior High and McPherson High School, all of McPherson.
Don worked as a foreman for Pyle Construction and later was a material handler for Hospira Inc. until his retirement in April 2013.
 Don was a constant and meticulous worker and enjoyed working with his hands.  He loved his family very much and always looked forward to the times everyone was home. He was very proud of his children and always wanted the best for them. Don was especially fond of his grandchildren, and great-grandson and always looked forward to their visits and times they would share together.
Don Beagel was united in marriage to Rebecca Jo “Becky” Lindsey on April 27, 1967 at the Church of the Nazarene, McPherson. Becky died on March 26, 2011.
 Don is survived by his children, Shelly Sitts and her husband Keith, of McPherson, Denice Buckner and her husband Ray, of Riceville, Tennessee, and Brent Beagel and his wife Christine, of McPherson; his grandchildren, Cody Sitts, Chelsea Sitts, Sarah Beagel, Madisen Buckner, Aaron Beagel, Ashlyn Buckner, Rheagan Buckner and Caiden Buckner; great-grandson, Kolton Kelley; his mother-in-law, Kay Goodsheller of McPherson; his step-mother, Madgel Beagel of Lebo; his siblings, Eva Jonelle John of McPherson, and Randall L. Beagel and his wife Lori, of Galva; several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, other relatives and a host of friends.
 Don was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rebecca Jo, and sister, Penny Laniece Beagel Erskin.
 The memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at New Hope Evangelical Church, McPherson with Pastor Jim Keil officiating.
 Graveside service and interment of cremated remains will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at the McPherson Cemetery, McPherson.
