Wilma J. (Billie) Ollek, 90, passed away June 29, 2014 at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
She was born Aug. 2, 1923 at Tampa, the daughter of George and Amelia Bartel Meier. She had owned and operated the White Swan Cafe in McPherson, and the Crusader Cafe in Buhler for many years, had baked many wedding cakes in McPherson and Caldwell and had worked as a certified medication aide for 14 years at the Buhler Sunshine Home. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson and the LWML there. She also was a lifetime member of the V.F.W Auxiliary. On Feb. 12, 1941, she married Arthur Ollek at Hillsboro. He passed away on March 16, 2003.  She is survived by two sons, Edward of Chester, Maryland, Jim (Julie) of Buhler, two daughters, Brenda Schafer of Wichita, Virginia Potter of Buhler, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Luke Schafer, one brother, Melvin, and two sisters, Viola Winter and Evelyn Dodds.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the Buhler Sunshine Home Chapel, Buhler.  Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hutchinson with Reverend Chad Trunkhill officiating. Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Hillsboro.
