  • Fee Insurance Group is warning its clients about recent fraudulent attempts to impersonate the company by engaging in a practice commonly known as Caller ID “spoofing.”
Caller ID spoofing involves the display of a number on a person’s Caller ID that is not the number of the originating caller. These calls can result in extra charges on phone bills. Some Fee Insurance Group clients have reported a telephone number that falsely registers as “662-5188 FEE Insurance Group” on their Caller ID.
Fee advises its clients to not give out personal information such as Social Security numbers or bank account numbers over the phone. If you suspect the caller is not Fee Insurance Group, write the number down, hang up and redial the number, or call Fee Insurance Group’s published telephone number to report the incident. Clients can also contact their telephone service provider and request that the offending number be blocked.
