1 Go to the farmer’s market and buy fresh produce at reasonable prices. Also at the farmer’s market will be various pieces of farm equipment on display. Get a look at how new technology has changed machinery and how it is used in agriculture today.

2 Listen to live music and enjoy eating free slices of watermelon provided by the Bank of Tescott and Hairymolairy’s at the watermelon feed. There will also be a watermelon seed spitting contest with a first place prize given to participants 12 years and older and 11 years and younger.

3 Front Porch Friday is a city-wide event open to the public, that happens the last Friday of every month. This Friday, Lindsborg is proud to present Michael McKinney, a 4-H agriculture innovator and McPherson High School senior who will be hosting the Fish Farm Challenge. The challenge allows participants to design their own fish feeder using a bucket, funnel, string, tape, newspaper, scissors, fish food, a mat (aka your pond) and fish food. Supplies provided. All teams’ feeders will be on display throughout the event.

“Come out and enjoy the spirit of the Smoky Valley community with different activities appropriate for all ages.”
