  • The McPherson Lady Express 18U softball team finished 3-4 in its postseason tournament.
    Tuesday, McPherson lost to the Missouri Angels 7-1 and beat the Spikes 95 5-1.
    Against the Angels, Gracy Fell, Maddy Hoffman and Nicole Creek each had a hit. Jasmine Wann drove in a run. Allison Weber took the loss pitching, striking out three.
    Against the Spikes, Weber went three for four hitting. Cheek went two for three with an RBI. Hoffman went two for four with an RBI. Wann and Marshall each drove in a run. Julie Sinclair was credited with the win pitching, striking out eight.
    Wednesday, McPherson fell to Team Nebraska Elite 13-2. The Express were hampered by five errors. Wann and Cheek each had a hit with an RBI. Hoffman also had a hit. Hoffman, Weber and Sinclair each pitched with Hoffman getting charged with a loss.
    Thursday, the Express downed the Kansas City Impact 5-1 and the Kansas City Skinners 4-3.
    Against the Impact, Marissa Axelson, Sinclair, Cheek and Stevie Stockman each drove in a run. Weber pitched for the win, striking out three. Sinclair was credited with the save, striking out one.
    Against the Skinners, McPherson scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to rally for the win. Sinclair went two for three with an RBI. Marshall went two for four with an RBI. Weber drove in two runs.
    Sinclair went the distance pitching, striking out one.
    Friday, McPherson lost to the Missouri Rattlers 3-2 and the Hurricanes 8-3.
    Against the Rattlers, McPherson gave up two runs in the bottom of the seventh in the loss. Marshall drove in both runs for the Express.
    Hoffman and Sinclair each added a hit. Weber took the loss pitching.
    Against the Hurricanes, McPherson took a 3-0 lead, but gave up two runs in the fifth inning and six runs in the sixth. Hoffman and Weber each went two for four hitting with an RBI. Wann also drove in a run.
    Sinclair, Hoffman and Weber each pitched. Weber took the loss.
