  • Bethany College announced the hiring of James "Jimmy" Caiola as the new Athletic Training Clinical Education Coordinator and Assistant Athletic Trainer.

  • Bethany College announced the hiring of  James "Jimmy" Caiola as the new Athletic Training Clinical Education Coordinator and Assistant Athletic Trainer.
    "Jimmy will be a great asset to the Bethany College Athletic Department and our Athletic Training Education Program," Swede Athletic Trainer Laura Stenlund said. "We look forward to him joining our staff and making an impact here at Bethany College."
    Caiola comes to Bethany from Wesley College in Dover, Del., where he was the Interim Head/Assistant Athletic Trainer for the 2013-2014 school year. He assisted in the coverage of football as well as away events for men's and women's basketball and men's lacrosse.
    He also coordinated practice and game coverage for all teams at the college.
    Caiola previously spent two years at Molloy College in Rockville Centre, New York. His primary sport coverage was women's soccer, men's lacrosse, and men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field.
    In addition, Caiola taught two classes at the college and was an approved clinical instructor for athletic training students of Hofstra University.
    Caiola attended Long Island University from 2009-2011, where he was a graduate assistant athletic trainer primarily covering women's volleyball, women's softball, and men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field.
    He served as an approved clinical instructor for athletic training students at the university, organized pre-participation physical examinations for all assigned teams and designed and implemented post-surgical rehabilitation from surgery through return to play.
    Caiola holds a Master of Science in Advanced Training and Sports Science from Long Island University.
    He also has a Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science, Concentration in Athletic Training, and a minor in Sport and Coaching from Eastern University in St. David's, Pa.
    As an athletic training student, Caiola collected various levels of experience among different organizations: Philadelphia Wings Indoor Lacrosse, Bryn Mawr College, Malvern Preparatory School, Villanova University and Eastern University.
    Caiola is National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) certified, Healthcare Provider CPR certified, and is a NATA member.
