  • Bethany College baseball coach Andrew Bartman announced the signing of two California products to the 2014-2015 Swedes.
Infielder Nathan Wallen comes to Bethany from Cesar Chavez High School in Stockton, California, where he played all four years.
"I am extremely excited to bring Nathan Wallen into the Swede Baseball Family,” Bartman said. “Nathan is going to be a strong bat for us and have the ability to move around the field to keep that bat in the lineup. He has the 'bones of a great swing and is only going to get better with reps and a strong work ethic."
Wallen is the son of Chris and Row Wallen. He had a 3.1 grade point average in high school and plans to major in Athletic Training while at Bethany College.
Also signing with Bethany is Brandt Fees of Tulare, California. Fees was a pitcher and outfielder for Central Valley Christian School in Visalia, California.
"Brandt comes to us from California and I have already seen improvement in him from last year to this current year," Bartman said. "Brandt's strong work ethic and room to grow physically lead me to believe that he will have a lot of success with the Swedes."
Fees is the son of Debi and Kevin Fees. He plays to major in graphic design while at Bethany College.
