  • Oklahoma Wesleyan University has claimed the top spots in both the men’s and women’s 2014 MCAC Preseason Coaches’ Polls released Friday.
    The Central Christian College men’s soccer team is tied for fourth with Central Baptist College. Bellevue University is second, followed by Waldorf College. York College was picked sixth in the conference.
    The CCC women, meanwhile, were picked sixth, tied with York College. Bellevue is second in the women’s poll, also, followed by College of Saint Mary, Waldorf and Central Baptist.
    The Tiger men are looking to improve on a 3-12-3 2013 season, which included an 0-4-1 mark in the MCAC.
    They opened their season Monday with a scrimmage at Hesston College. They will host a scrimmage Wednesday against Dodge City Community College beginning at 8 p.m.
    Their first regular season game is Sept. 5 at home against the University of Saint Mary.
    The Central women were 4-14 in 2013 and 1-5 in the conference.
    They will also scrimmage DCCC Wednesday, with kick off at 6 p.m.
