Craig Arlen Gannon, 75, of McPherson, passed away at 6:23 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, while in the company of family members, at Via Christi on St. Francis, Wichita.
 Craig was born on Dec. 3, 1938, in Bismarck, North Dakota, son of Ruth Margaret (Johnson) and Clell G. Gannon.
Craig attended the Bismarck public schools, Harvard University and the University of Minnesota.
Craig was a member of First Presbyterian Church, McPherson, where he served his church in several capacities throughout 34 years.
 Craig first taught at Central Christian College, McPherson, then accepted a position as Professor of British Literature at Sterling College in Sterling.  He remained at Sterling for 18 years.
Craig A. Gannon was united in marriage to Judith A. Strutz on June 30, 1967, at Bismarck, North Dakota.
 Surviving family members include his wife, Judi Gannon, of McPherson; his children: Stephen Gannon, of Norman, Oklahoma; Meg Bettis and her husband Mitch, of Little Rock, Arkansas; Kathleen Gannon, of Kalispell, Montana; Laura Smith, of Dallas; James Gannon and his wife Sarah, of Topeka; and Ned Gannon and his wife Sara, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; his brother, Grael Gannon, of Fargo, North Dakota; his 13 grandchildren: Sabrina, Michael, TJ, Andrew, Jordan, Annabeth, Jackson, Eliot, Claire, Addy, John, Elli, and Nathaniel; his three great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Elijah, Gianna; other relatives and a host of friends.
 Craig was preceded in death by his parents, Clell and Ruth Gannon.
 The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at the First Presbyterian Church, McPherson, with the Rev. H. Dick Reynolds Jr. officiating.
