Together in partnership, Ranchland Trust of Kansas and Pioneer Bluffs bring you the first-ever re-creation of the first barn party at Rogler Ranch! Party on the Prairie is a joint fundraiser benefiting RTK and Pioneer Bluffs. The event will be held at Pioneer Bluffs on Nov. 4, 2017.

An article from the Chase County News in 1915 highlighting the first barn party at Rogler Ranch reported, “What is said to be the biggest old-fashioned barn dance ever held in the county was held at the farm of County Representative Henry Rogler at Matfield Green last evening. Nearly 300 people attended, some of them coming from a distance of forty and fifty miles.”

The article mentioned “auto parties” and “motor parties” from surrounding counties. Cake and coffee were served to guests at midnight.

Please join us this year on Nov. 4 and help re-create the first barn party at this iconic Flint Hills Ranch! Beginning at 4 p.m., guests will enjoy horse-drawn carriage rides, wine and beer, appetizers, croquet and horseshoe pitching. You’ll meet Billy Morgan, 1915 Kansas Lieutenant Governor (portrayed by Tom Thompson).

A unique, fine dining experience begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner catered by Ad Astra. You’ll enjoy cowboy favorites such as Texas Longhorn Caviar, Cowboy Coffee Cattle Roast, Angel Biscuits, and Spotted Pup. During dinner guests will hear about the Rogler Ranch history, conservation easements and other ranching heritage stories.

Cowboy stories by the campfire, featuring Jim Hoy and other cowboy poets will begin at 6 p.m.

The evening will conclude with a barn dance and live country and blues music by Unchained from Goddard, Kansas.

A silent auction will take place throughout the afternoon and evening, including jewelry, artwork, a quarter of grass-fed beef provided by Collinge Cattle Company and a cow portrait by award-winning photographer, Don Wolfe.

Party on the Prairie is $135 per person or $35 per youth (18 and under). A table for eight may be reserved for $1,000. ($100 of each adult seat is a tax-deductible contribution for which you will receive a donation receipt.)

You won’t want to miss the first barn party and be a part of history! Seating is limited. To reserve your seat, send payment to RTK or Pioneer Bluffs:
